Wallpaper has been one of the hottest trends in our homes throughout 2021, and going all out looks like it will continue to be very much in as we edge towards the start of a new year.

From 3D textures and contemporary geometrics to blousy florals and panoramic murals, the latest wallpapers replace the boring with the bold and are guaranteed to bring the wow factor.

There’s no quicker way to make a statement, but if you aren’t quite ready to take the plunge, there’s a huge range of wall decals available that will help you add instant style with the option to make a quick change when the mood takes you.

Here are a few of our favourite wallpaper styles.

Murals

Google searches for panoramic mural wallpaper rose more than 300 per cent over the last year, with gorgeous life size pieces of art transporting us to atmospheric forests, sandy shores and sophisticated cities.

Florals

Seen everywhere in 2021, florals can complement any interior style, whether contemporary, country or vintage. Bold is beautiful but consider your room size when picking your blooms – large prints can shrink already small rooms, so using a smaller design will give you the illusion of space.

Architecture

Wallpapers can give you walls that instantly look like expensive stone, brick, slate, marble or wood without the hard work, and using architectural wallpaper in panels will give a blank room real character.

Texture

We’ve all struggled to remove woodchip papers from our walls, but the latest textured wallpapers will add depth and definition without it looking like you’ve gone back to the 70s. Soft touch faux suede or paper backed silks will bring warmth and cosiness, while printed grass cloths and embellished corks add interest and depth.

Maximalism

Don’t be afraid to go bold by mixing and matching. Combining big blousy florals or bold leopard print with stripes or metallics in complementary colours demonstrates that more is more when it comes to making a design statement.
