We’ve all been spending a lot more time at home, but that doesn’t mean it’s relaxing.

If you feel in need of a little more me-time, why not turn your bathroom into a spa for an at-home peaceful pampering experience?

Here’s how to do it:

Clear the clutter: Make sure your bathroom is sparkling clean and fresh – you won’t find many gummed up bottles and limp flannels hanging around in a spa!

Set the mood: There’s nothing like lighting a few candles to create a relaxing ambience, especially beautifully scented ones. Choose a calming playlist on Spotify and fill the room with soothing music.

Have things handy: If you’re partial to sipping a glass of wine and reading a book as you soak, avert any dangers by using a stylish bath tray.

Heaven scent: Add a few drops of soothing essential oil to your tub, or use a burner or diffuser to fill the room with fragrance

Keep things cosy: Add bubbles or oil to your bath and run the water with the door closed so the room is filled with scented steam. Warm fluffy towels on the radiator or towel rail for extra luxury when you emerge from your soak.

Lower the tones: Pure white bathrooms are bright and fresh, but warm earth tones make for a more relaxing atmosphere. Organic browns and greens feel calm and soothing, while pale grey gives the feel of an elegant, spacious spa.

Space to grow: Fill your bathroom with plants – they filter the air and create a calming environment. Look for plants that love humid conditions, like ferns, aloe vera and bamboo.
